Student of Kernersville Middle school, Katie is a musician at heart! Played the piano for 5 years and started playing the French horn. She enjoys writing and really loves creative writing especially. Placing 3rd in the county after entering one of her short stories in a reflections contest, Katie also competed for the national academic league team at her school. Her favorite part about Taekwondo is competition. She started competing at yellow belt and says that it makes her feel powerful when she competes. She is Part of PURE's Poomsae Competition Team.
"Taekwondo has helped me in many ways! My confidence has raised so much since I started. The confidence has carried from the mat, to school where I used to be afraid to raise my hand, even if I knew the answer. Taekwondo has made me feel confident about myself!"

Michaelanthony

5 Years of Taekwondo Experience

Early college student, Michaelanthony loves to spend his time with his family and friends outside of Taekwondo. Currently studying with goals of becoming a cellular biologists, he loves to eat apples, playing with a Frisbee and used to be a very good Lego builder when he was younger. His inspiration is Dr. Martin Luther king Jr.
"He inspires me because he was able to make his dreams become a reality and change and entire nation for the better!"
So far, Michaelanthony has made straight A's in high school!
"I enjoy knowing that teaching someone, I'm actively playing a role in them becoming a better martial artist. by doing this, I'm able to work at improving my character and advance my knowledge as a martial artist."

Sebastian is an outgoing person with an awesome personality!"The boy with the golden heart" is part of the HAG program in school with great grades! Sebastian wants to achieve his degree in business and personal finance with the plans of being a financial advisor.
"It's great being a part of the community with PURE!"
He enjoys playing outside playing basketball, tennis or Frisbee with his dog. What he enjoys most is spending time with his family doing family activities. He loves teaching Taekwondo for various reasons.
"I love meeting new students and helping them inside and outside of class."
His inspiration is his family and Master Posey.
"They both want what's best for me and they always constantly try to make me improve myself in my character and how I live."
He is striving to get his 4th degree in Taekwondo very soon!
"I hope to be the best that I can be so I can be a role model to others. I want to be an example of hard work!"

7 Years of Taekwondo Experience

Aryan is a young student of many talents! Don't let his age trick you. Although his favorite foods consist of a wide range of food including BACON, pizza, donuts, wings, butter chicken and kori roti(2 traditional dishes); he has built a mechanism to turn on his room light and fan with everyday materials from the comfort of his bed. His interest lie in becoming a nanotechnologist which is the manipulation of matter on an atomic, molecular, and supramolecular state if you didn't know lol! This avid reader is inspire by the one and only Michael Phelps.
"I remember watching him on TV at the Olympics and cheering him on. I once read a book about how he would wake up at 5am every morning starting his days with practices at such a young age. He strived to make himself better everyday at any cost."
Aryan is part of the PURE Taekwondo Sparring Competition Team. Through that hard training, he still has a soft side.
"My favorite part about PURE Taekwondo Center is the family atmosphere. It makes you feel welcomed as if you're a part of a huge family."
Just like Phelps, Aryan is always trying to better himself.
"I want to continue to build my self confidence, leadership skills and learn that the path to success involves hard work, dedication and perseverance."

Mr. Andy brings the wisdom to the team with his life experiences. As a father of 3, Mr. Andy knows how to approach children with encouragement and grace.

Master Hanks is a leader who started Taekwondo at a very young age!
"My favorite part about PURE is the family atmosphere. You'll always find a familiar and friendly face when you walk through PURE's doors."
Another part of Taekwondo that he feels really passionate about is the sport side of it.
"I also love that PURE offers the choice of competition teams, next to no other schools in the area offer specific teams designated to competition. Master Posey's experience with competition is unparalleled and his methodology cannot be found anywhere else."
When he grows up he plans is to do mission work or to become a biomedical engineer. He really feels like those two professions would allow him to help other people. This Student athlete likes to read and building projects. He is most likely to beat you in an eating contest especially if it involves cheese burgers and broccoli."(but not together)" He is constantly inspired by his parents.
"The example they have set for me has always affected who I am and how I behave, as well as how I treat others. That's part of the reason why I love to teach so much. I have the opportunity to influence so many people. I feel like I get to share the vision of PURE in making the difference in the community and teach children important lessons and skills that will help them through their journey in life."

Math is his favorite subject and has completed 9th Grade math. Keir is part of the Poomsae Competition Team. He loves teaching his peers while setting the example and showing them that any goal is possible.
"My favorite part about PURE is that we're a family. If I mess up, others are there to help me!"
Keir loves the outdoors. Any activity involving the outdoors you can count him in!
"When I grow up, I want to be a marine biologist and bush pilot working with animals in Africa if that's God's will for my life"
Mr. Delaney

4 Years of Taekwondo Experience

Delaney is a young, FAST, and passionate person! He is a member of his school's track team and cross country team.
"I like working out at the gym with my father on weight machines because it makes me feel healthy. I love to run FAST!"
Delaney always love to better himself any way he can. He also likes to learn a lot about his country.
"I love learning about my country! I don't know what I want to be when I grow up quite yet but I do know that I love my country and what it stands for. I would like to do something to help keep it a great nation by teaching history or maybe joining the military. For now, I just try to stay focused on my tasks at hand, and do good at school."
Delaney loves to play video games and spending time with his family and friends. He also has a good talent for origami. Delaney used to compete in sparring and has competed at a state and national level becoming state champion and also reaching quarterfinals at the US National Championships in 2016. Delaney loves taking and teaching Taekwondo.
" My favorite part of Taekwondo is feeling like I’ve accomplished something that will help me in my life forever. It feels good to be a apart of something, and after achieving what I have in Taekwondo, my possibilities are endless. I want to continue to achieve higher belt status as well as allowing Taekwondo to keep my mind and body focused.  Taekwondo is not easy, it requires dedication, physically and mentally.  Also, I am shy, so Taekwondo takes me out of my comfort zone and makes me good at performing in front of others. I like to teach Taekwondo because I get invested in the success of others."

Master Ivester loves Taekwondo and has been doing it since he was 5.
"My favorite part about PURE is the family atmosphere and when your here training, it's okay if you make a mistake because it's a learning experience and a way to better yourself."
Other than Taekwondo, Master Ivester plays lacrosse for his high school and is really good at it. He plans on doing something in the criminal justice field preferably in a federal level after school. Master Ivester also competes on PURE's poomsae competition team.
"A major accomplishment I feel I've made was earning my 4th degree black belt when I was 15 and have been able to go to nationals 3 times to compete in poomsae.What I hope to get out of Taekwondo is the discipline and respect that is needed in life."

Christina is a honor roll student who LOVES sushi and Chinese Dumplings. A perfect day for her consists of playing video games, reading books and eating. She is a ninja in disguise and really enjoys Taekwondo. Being a member of PURE's Sparring Competition Team is something she likes a lot.
"My favorite part of Taekwondo is the Sparring and self-defense aspect of it. I want to be able to inspire students here through my sparring capabilities to show that anyone can do it. That's why I love to teach and spar!"
While growing up, Christina always wanted to be a veterinarian and work to help animals of all types. she likes to run and play badminton. Few of her many accomplishments include achieving her black belt and placing silver at the US National Championships. May I add that she is a part of the National Junior Honor Society.

High school student, Katherine enjoys shopping, visiting historic art sites, hanging out with friends and going to music festivals. She really loves POPCORN! You can pretty much catch her with a bag of it at anytime! oh she also likes quesadillas and anything that involves chicken.
"My favorite part about Taekwondo is the Poomsae(forms) aspect of it. I really like to kick high and its a chance to chow grace and flexibility while still being strong. I hope to gain not only physical strength from Taekwondo, but I would like to better my public speaking skills along with leadership qualities and being able to conquer mental challenges from it."
Katherine really loves teaching Taekwondo because it enables her to get to knew new students and adults from throughout the community. She also likes to help out with summer camps!
"It gives me a chance to build friendships and also get to know everyone's goofy personalities."
She is also a part of PURE's Competition Team for poomsae and has recently been inducted into early college at Forsyth Technical Community Early College.
